PostHog AI generates insights, builds dashboards, and answers questions about your product data using natural language. Describe what you want to see, and PostHog AI creates the visualization with the right events, filters, and breakdowns pre-configured.
How it works
PostHog AI identifies the right insight type (trends, funnels, retention, paths, or lifecycle), selects the relevant events and properties from your project, applies filters, breakdowns, and date ranges based on your description, and generates the visualization.
You can refine results by asking follow-up questions – like "break this down by country" or "change the date range to last 90 days" – and PostHog AI updates the insight in place.
Supported insight types
PostHog AI creates every insight type in Product Analytics:

Tips for better results
- Name your events explicitly – "Show me
user_signed_upevents" works better than "show me signups" if PostHog AI can't match the event name - Specify time ranges – "in the last 30 days" or "this week" helps PostHog AI scope the query correctly
- Describe the visualization you want – "as a funnel" or "broken down by browser" tells PostHog AI which insight type and breakdown to use
- Iterate with follow-ups – Ask PostHog AI to adjust filters, add breakdowns, or change the chart type after it creates the initial insight
- Ask questions, not just commands – "What changed this week?" and "Why did signups drop?" trigger PostHog AI to investigate and explain, not just build a chart
