Newsletters for the not-yet-AI-pilled
Owner:

Motivation: We're good at writing about the latest in AI trends based on PostHog and dev Twitter, but a good chunk of our readers aren't that far into AI yet.
What we'll ship: At least 3 issues that are written for builders who aren't already deep in AI tooling yet. That can include explainer-style posts like last quarter, but we'll also try other approaches like taking familiar topics and showing how to apply AI to them (e.g., analytics for startups). Another angle could be to take Product for Engineers-y topics like "why we killed product tours" and turn that into "the first product we killed because of AI"
We'll know we're successful when: These are just as popular as last quarter's newsletters without alienating more advanced readers. New subscribers and engagement outside of the Twittersphere is a bonus.
Nail producing short-form video bangers

Motivation: Social media engagement
What we'll ship: At least one video per week to go out on all channels (yes, even TikTok!). To make this easier, we'll ship handbook content about the basics of our editing style and formatting, to reduce collaboration and increase everyone's individual ability to ship videos.
We'll know we're successful when: We see short form video content as a banker (guarantee) of good engagement.
AEO maintenance mode

Motivation: After a quarter of headwinds, the highest-leverage thing we can do is making sure everything we have in place is working and that we can actually see whether it's working.
What we'll ship:
- Optimized product pages and key website pages (about, FAQ, pricing, etc.)
- A refresh pass on our highest-value articles that have declined, prioritized by past traffic, citation loss and business relevance
- A technical SEO/AEO bug sweep
- Updated dashboards using the new web analytics features, and cleaned-up #marketing-reporting subscriptions the team actually reads
- Agents tracking set up in Gauge
We'll know we're successful when:
- Refreshed articles win back rankings and citations, and SEO/AEO traffic and signups recover
- SEO/AEO is a considered step in every website PR instead of an afterthought
- We can easily answer "how is SEO/AEO doing, and which content is performing well or not?"
- We have a baseline for how agents find and choose PostHog
More skills, loops, and automations

Motivation: We've started with these, but could we take it further? We've done things like newsletter research skill, comparison scout, etc.
What we'll ship: Tutorial checker, better comparison updater and checker, engineering blog idea scout, product release for social scout, design automations (brand book + Claude Design?) and more.
We'll know we're successful when: Everyone's using AI on the daily, and it's actually useful. Our AI internal marketing tools have PMF (ask the question).
Every newsletter and video is a big launch

Motivation: We do a lot of work on every newsletter and video, but we're missing the last bit of follow up to make sure they get the attention they deserve. Early engagement encourages the algorithm to show it to more people.
What we'll ship: Posting in Slack every time they ship. Posts from the team every time they ship. Memes, graphics, followups, reposts from others.
We'll know we're successful when: Every post goes viral (or at least gets a lot of engagement).
News to video pipeline
Owner:
Dennis Ivy
Dennis Ivy
Motivation: We want to start building our media empire loop muscle by repurposing our newsletter content into video content as well as making videos about model releases.
What we'll ship: A video version of every relevant newsletter and model release, aiming to be a majority of the content for the quarter (one video every week).
We'll know we're successful when: We feel comfortable and have a repeatable process for turning newsletters into videos.
