About PostHog
We help developers build successful products by giving them a suite of products to analyze, test, observe, and deploy new features. We currently offer product and web analytics, session replay, feature flags, A/B testing, a CDP, SQL access, and a data warehouse… and there’s plenty more to come.
PostHog was created as an open-source project during Y Combinator's W20 cohort. We had the most successful B2B software launch on HackerNews since 2012 with a product that was just 4 weeks old. Since then, more than 110,000 companies have installed the platform. We've had huge success with our paid upgrades, raised $27m from some of the world's top investors, and have shown strong product-led growth – 97% driven by word of mouth.
We're growing quickly, but sustainably. We're also default alive, averaging 10% monthly revenue growth and with more than $20m ARR. We're staying focused on building an awesome product for end users, hiring a handful of exceptional team members, and seeing fantastic growth as a result.
What we value
We are open source - building a huge community around a free-for-life product is key to PostHog's strategy.
We aim to become the most transparent company, ever. In order to enable teams to make great decisions, we share as much information as we can. In our public handbook everyone can read about our roadmap, how we pay (or even let go of) people, what our strategy is, and who we have raised money from. We also have regular team-wide feedback sessions, where we share honest feedback with each other.
Working autonomously and maximizing impact - we don’t tell anyone what to do. Everyone chooses what to work on next based on what is going to have the biggest impact on our customers.
Solve big problems - we haven't built our defining feature yet. We are all about acting fast and iterating.
Who we’re looking for
We're scaling fast and need two amazing people to make sure our growing teams stay incredible as we add tons of new people - one in the US and one in Europe!
You'll be the person who takes our new hires from 'yes, I accept!' all the way to becoming successful long-term team members. This means everything from getting contracts signed and payroll sorted, to working with team leads on probation, to constantly improving our onboarding based on real feedback.
The People & Ops team exists to remove every possible distraction from the rest of the business, and you'll be crucial in making that happen. We're obsessed with making processes feel effortless rather than bureaucratic, and you'll use smart automation to help us scale without needing an army of people.
You're someone who genuinely loves seeing other people succeed and thrive. You get excited about the behind-the-scenes work that lets brilliant people focus on what they do best. You'll be the regional expert who makes everything run smoothly so our teams can keep performing at the highest level while we rapidly grow across both sides of the Atlantic.
What you’ll be doing
Onboarding new team members, ensuring their first weeks are memorable (for the right reasons!)
Contracts, compensation & benefits administration
Keep automating all our internal processes
Keeping us on the right side of all our legal requirements, whether that's keeping on top of the latest legislation, state registrations for taxes (US) etc.
Managing equipment so our laptops don't disappear into the ether
What you won’t be doing
❌ Being an HR manager (we have team members, not 'resources')
❌ Implementing 'best practice' process because you saw it on LinkedIn once
❌ Chasing people to do their performance review templates and other admin that doesn't help them
Requirements
Incredibly optimistic and supportive - your default is 'yes, and' when people come to you for help, not 'no, but'
Worked in Ops at a remote or hybrid business
Worked in a scaling tech company, ie. headcount growth to 100+ people quickly
Incredibly trustworthy, as you'll have access to very sensitive data
