PostHog Wizard hedgehog

Connect Amazon DocumentDB to PostHog to sync your data into the PostHog data warehouse for analysis and modeling.

DocumentDB clusters only accept connections from inside their VPC. Make the cluster reachable from PostHog, for example through a Network Load Balancer, and allow PostHog's IP addresses in its security group.

Configuration

OptionDescription
Connection string
Type: password
Required: True

In the Amazon DocumentDB console, open your cluster and copy the connection string under Connectivity & security, then replace <insertYourPassword> with your password. The cluster endpoint only resolves inside your VPC, so replace the host with your load balancer's address and add directConnection=true&tlsAllowInvalidHostnames=true. PostHog already trusts the AWS certificate bundle.

Database name
Type: text
Required: True

The database to import. DocumentDB connection strings don't include one.

Linking Amazon DocumentDB to PostHog

  1. Go to the Data pipeline page in PostHog
  2. Click New source and select Amazon DocumentDB
  3. Fill in the required configuration fields
  4. Click Next, select the tables you want to sync, and then press Import

Supported tables

The tables available from this source are discovered from your account when you connect it, so the exact list depends on your data. Once connected, you can pick which tables to sync from the sources tab.
