Two checks have to pass before PostHog AI, Support, or the Playground can use a source.
Approve AI data processing
Organization owners and admins approve this under organization settings, in AI service providers.
Until that's on, PostHog doesn't send source text to a model. Documents stay unchecked, search leaves them out, and the Playground refuses a question with: Enable AI data processing before asking another question.
Wait for the content check
Search leaves a document out until the content check marks it safe, and leaves out a document marked unsafe. See Content checks.
Keyword search works after the content check. Semantic search is built in the background and can take up to an hour after that. The source status shows indexing during that window.
If the organization hasn't approved AI data processing, a ready source can still show that semantic search is off.
