Download PostHog Desktop, sign in with your PostHog account, and choose a repository.

Releases include macOS builds for Apple Silicon and Intel, a Windows installer, and Linux AppImage, .deb, and .rpm packages.

Eligibility

Anyone can download the app. PostHog Desktop usage consumes AI credits from your PostHog organization. See pricing for current rates and the monthly free tier.

Organizations on the PostHog startup plan cannot use AI credits for PostHog Desktop yet. The app shows an eligibility notice instead of allowing tasks to start. You can still download the app and sign in.

Updates

On macOS and Windows, PostHog Desktop checks for updates at startup. Automatic downloads are on by default, and updates install the next time you quit. Turn off automatic downloads or select Check now in Settings > General when you want to control the timing.

Linux does not update automatically. Download a new package from the releases page when you want to update.

PostHog Desktop can require an update when an older build is no longer safe or reliable. Other updates install in the background or appear as dismissible notices.
