Create a key in your CoinGecko developer dashboard. Free Demo keys (x-cg-demo-api-key) and paid Pro keys (x-cg-pro-api-key) use different hosts — pick the plan that matches your key.
CoinGecko enforces tight per-minute rate limits and monthly credit caps, especially on the Demo plan, so large tables may take a while to sync.

Linking CoinGecko to PostHog
- Go to the Data pipeline page in PostHog
- Click New source and select CoinGecko
- Fill in the required configuration fields
- Click Next, select the tables you want to sync, and then press Import
