## How pricing works

PostHog has two plans:

- **Free** — No credit card required. Generous monthly usage limits on every product. 1 project. 1 year data retention. Community support.
- **Paid** (pay-as-you-go) — $0/mo base price. You get a free tier on every product, then pay only for what you use above it. The free tier resets every month. 6 projects. 7 year data retention. Email support.

There are no per-seat charges. Your whole team can use PostHog.

PostHog's standard monthly pricing already gets cheaper at higher volumes (see the tier tables above). For annual credit commitments, additional discounts are available — and they're fully transparent:

## Other discounts

- **Startups**: $50,000 in free credits for 12 months. Eligible if less than 2 years old and less than $5M raised. Apply at https://posthog.com/startups

- **Event**: Any data point sent to PostHog (pageview, click, custom event, API call, etc.)
- **Recording**: A single captured user session
- **Request**: A single feature flag evaluation (client or server-side)
- **Survey response**: One completed survey submission
- **Exception**: A single error or exception captured
- **Row**: A single row synced from an external data source
- **Trigger event**: A single event sent to a realtime destination
