# Self-driving pricing - Docs

**Open beta**

Self-driving is currently in open beta, and pricing is subject to change.

PostHog self-driving is priced on an outcome basis, which means you only pay for a completed piece of work.

You pay a flat **$15 per pull request**: an actionable [report](/docs/self-driving/reports.md) with a code change attached, surfaced in your [inbox](/docs/self-driving/inbox.md).

You're only billed for actionable reports that become a pull request. Reports that aren't actionable, or that need your input instead of a code change, are always free.

## How PostHog assesses actionability

Before a [report](/docs/self-driving/reports.md) can become a pull request, an agent investigates it. It digs into your codebase and your PostHog data to confirm the problem is real and to work out whether there's a concrete change it could make. Based on what it finds, every report lands in one of two states:

- **PR (= actionable):** There's a clear code change an agent can make right now.
- **Report (= needs input):** A finding worth your attention that requires input, such as business context or a trade-off between several valid approaches.

## What's free

- Non-actionable reports surfaced in your inbox (a problem without a fix)
- Your first 3 pull requests each month

## Track your self-driving usage

Each pull request you're billed for:

- Appears in your usage alongside the rest of your PostHog spend
- Respects a dollar **billing limit** you set
- Pauses when you hit that limit, until usage resets next billing period

Track your spend on the [billing overview](https://app.posthog.com/organization/billing/overview) and [billing usage](https://app.posthog.com/organization/billing/usage) pages.

**Important**

Usage data may take up to 24 hours to appear on the billing overview and billing usage pages.

## Control your self-driving spend

You can control your self-driving spend on both the usage and billing side.

### Usage

- Disable [signal sources](/docs/self-driving/inbox/sources.md) with limited usefulness to you
- Disable types of [scouts](/docs/self-driving/scouts.md) with limited usefulness to you

**Coming soon**

We're also considering letting you sample your data to control usage. If that's something you'd find useful, get in touch via in-app support.

### Billing

- **Real-time tracking:** See costs as you go
- **Custom billing limit:** Set hard caps to prevent overspending
- **Default billing limit:** PostHog sets a default $150 billing limit so you don't accidentally rack up costs without a ceiling
- **Usage alerts:** Get notified when you hit key thresholds

Manage your billing limit and review your spend on the [billing settings](https://app.posthog.com/organization/billing) page.

When you hit your billing limit, report and PR generation is paused until your usage resets at the next billing period.

## Refunds

Self-driving is currently in open beta, and we don't get it right every time yet.

You're charged per PR, so a PR should be worth paying for. We hold every PR to two standards:

- **Accurate report:** The report identifies a real issue and describes it correctly, without false positives or hallucinated problems.
- **Solves the stated problem:** The code actually addresses the issue described in the report, rather than a tangent or partial fix.

If a PR doesn't meet this bar, we'll refund it. Get in touch via in-app support and tell us what went wrong.
