For an EU Cloud project, use `https://eu.posthog.com` instead of `https://us.posthog.com` or `https://app.posthog.com` (app host for links). ## On this page - [Available tables](#available-tables) - [Linking ServiceNow](#linking-servicenow) - [Authentication](#authentication) - [Configuration](#configuration) - [Supported tables](#supported-tables) **Beta release** This source is currently in **beta**. It works end to end, but you may still hit rough edges. [Let us know](https://us.posthog.com/#panel=support%3Asupport%3Adata_warehouse%3A%3Atrue) if you do. ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/dmukukwp6/image/upload/texture_tan_9608fcca70) ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/dmukukwp6/image/upload/texture_tan_dark_a92b0e022d) Let AI connect your sources for you Skip the manual setup — run this in your project and the wizard auto-detects your databases and APIs and connects them to PostHog. `npx @posthog/wizard warehouse` ![PostHog Wizard hedgehog](https://res.cloudinary.com/dmukukwp6/image/upload/wizard_3f8bb7a240.png) ![](https://res.cloudinary.com/dmukukwp6/image/upload/wizard_3f8bb7a240.png)Let AI connect your sources for you The ServiceNow connector syncs your ITSM data into the PostHog data warehouse, including incidents, problems, change requests, users, configuration items, and more. ## Available tables | Table name | ServiceNow table | | --- | --- | | incidents | `incident` | | problems | `problem` | | change\_requests | `change_request` | | change\_tasks | `change_task` | | tasks | `task` | | catalog\_requests | `sc_request` | | requested\_items | `sc_req_item` | | catalog\_tasks | `sc_task` | | users | `sys_user` | | user\_groups | `sys_user_group` | | configuration\_items | `cmdb_ci` | | knowledge\_articles | `kb_knowledge` | | assets | `alm_asset` | All tables support incremental sync using `sys_updated_on` (catches both inserts and updates) or `sys_created_on` (append-only style syncs). ## Linking ServiceNow 1. Go to the [Data pipeline page](https://app.posthog.com/data-management/sources) and the sources tab in PostHog. 2. Click **New source** and select ServiceNow. 3. Provide your ServiceNow instance URL (e.g., `https://your-instance.service-now.com`). 4. Choose your authentication method: - **Username and password** – enter your ServiceNow username and password. - **API key** – enter your ServiceNow API key. 5. *Optional:* Add a prefix to your table names. 6. Click **Next**. The data warehouse then starts syncing your ServiceNow data. You can see details and progress in the [data pipeline sources tab](https://app.posthog.com/data-management/sources). ## Authentication ServiceNow supports two authentication methods: - **Username and password** – uses HTTP basic authentication against the ServiceNow Table API. - **API key** – uses the `x-sn-apikey` header for token-based authentication. The account or API key needs **read** access to the tables you want to sync. This typically means the `rest_api_explorer` role or equivalent table ACLs on your ServiceNow instance. ## Configuration | Option | Type | Required | | --- | --- | --- | | `Instance URL` | text | Yes | | `Authentication method` | select | Yes | ## Supported tables | Table | Description | Sync method | Incremental field | Primary key | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `incidents` | An unplanned interruption or reduction in quality of an IT service (ServiceNow `incident` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `problems` | The underlying cause of one or more incidents (ServiceNow `problem` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `change_requests` | A request to add, modify, or remove anything that could affect IT services (ServiceNow `change_request` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `change_tasks` | A task carried out as part of a change request (ServiceNow `change_task` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `tasks` | The base task record that all task-based tables extend (ServiceNow `task` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `catalog_requests` | A request for one or more catalog items, submitted through the service catalog (ServiceNow `sc_request` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `requested_items` | An individual catalog item within a catalog request (ServiceNow `sc_req_item` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `catalog_tasks` | A fulfillment task for a requested catalog item (ServiceNow `sc_task` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `users` | A user account in the ServiceNow instance (ServiceNow `sys_user` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `user_groups` | A group of users, used for assignment and notifications (ServiceNow `sys_user_group` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `configuration_items` | A configuration item (CI) in the CMDB representing a managed asset or service (ServiceNow `cmdb_ci` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `knowledge_articles` | A knowledge base article (ServiceNow `kb_knowledge` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `assets` | An asset tracked in asset management (ServiceNow `alm_asset` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `task_slas` | An SLA attached to a task, with its stage and timings (ServiceNow `task_sla` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `metric_instances` | One recorded instance of a metric for a record, such as the time an incident spent in a state (ServiceNow `metric_instance` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `choices` | Labels and translations for the options of choice fields, such as incident state or priority (ServiceNow `sys_choice` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — | | `service_offerings` | An offering of a service from the service portfolio, referenced by incidents and change requests (ServiceNow `service_offering` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | sys\_updated\_on, sys\_created\_on | — |
