For an EU Cloud project, use `https://eu.posthog.com` instead of `https://us.posthog.com` or `https://app.posthog.com` (app host for links). ## On this page - [Prerequisites](#prerequisites) - [Adding a data source](#adding-a-data-source) - [Sync modes](#sync-modes) - [Configuration](#configuration) - [Supported tables](#supported-tables) - [Troubleshooting](#troubleshooting) **Beta release** This source is currently in **beta**. It works end to end, but you may still hit rough edges. PostHog only reads data, so read access is enough. ## Adding a data source 1. In PostHog, go to the [Sources tab](https://app.posthog.com/data-management/sources) of the data pipeline section. 2. Click **\+ New source** and click **Link** next to this source. 3. Enter your credentials (see [Configuration](#configuration) below) and click **Next**. 4. Select the tables you want to sync, choose a sync method and frequency, then click **Import**. Once the syncs are complete, you can start querying this data in PostHog. Sync your Dynamics 365 (Dataverse) customer data - accounts, contacts, leads, opportunities, cases and activities - . To connect, register an app in **Microsoft Entra ID** and add a client secret. Then add that app as an **application user** in your Dynamics 365 environment (Power Platform admin center > Environments > Settings > Users + permissions > Application users) and give it a security role that can read the tables you want to sync. The environment URL is the one you use to open the app, for example `https://contoso.crm.dynamics.com`. You'll be asked for: - **Environment URL**: for example `https://contoso.crm.dynamics.com`. - **Directory (tenant) ID**: for example `72f988bf-86f1-41af-91ab-2d7cd011db47`. - **Application (client) ID**: for example `00001111-aaaa-2222-bbbb-3333cccc4444`. - **Client secret** ## Sync modes Each table can be synced in one of several modes, depending on what the source supports: - **Webhook** (when available) – the source pushes changes to PostHog in real time. Fastest freshness, lowest ongoing cost, and the only mode that reliably captures updates and deletes. - **Incremental** – only new or updated rows are synced on each run, using a cursor field (such as an `updated_at` timestamp). Cheaper than a full refresh, but deletes aren't captured. - **Append only** – new rows are appended using a cursor field; existing rows are never updated. Ideal for immutable, append-only tables like event logs. - **Full refresh** – the whole table is reloaded on every sync. Use it when a table has no reliable cursor or when you need deletions reflected. See [sync methods](https://posthog.com/docs/data-pipelines/sources.md#sync-methods) for a full explanation of how each mode works and how to choose between them. All Microsoft Dynamics 365 tables are full refresh. Each sync replaces the contents of the table. ## Configuration | Option | Type | Required | | --- | --- | --- | | `Environment URL` | text | Yes | | `Directory (tenant) ID` | text | Yes | | `Application (client) ID` | text | Yes | | `Client secret` | password | Yes | ## Supported tables | Table | Description | Sync method | Incremental field | Primary key | | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | | `Accounts` | Businesses your organization has a relationship with — customers, prospects, partners, competitors, and vendors. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Contacts` | People your organization has a relationship with, usually linked to an account. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Leads` | Potential customers who haven't yet been qualified into an account, contact, or opportunity. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Opportunities` | Potential revenue-generating deals with a customer, tracked through the sales process. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Cases` | Customer service requests, questions, and problems (the `incident` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Campaigns` | Marketing programs run to promote a product or service, with their planned and actual costs. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Quotes` | Formal offers of products or services at proposed prices, issued to a customer. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Orders` | Confirmed customer orders for products or services (the `salesorder` table). | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Invoices` | Bills issued to customers for ordered products or services. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Products` | Items and services your organization sells, including product families and bundles. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Activities` | Every activity in the system through its shared base table (`activitypointer`) — emails, phone calls, tasks, appointments, and more. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Tasks` | Work items assigned to a user, with a due date and completion state. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `PhoneCalls` | Logged inbound and outbound phone calls, with duration and outcome. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Emails` | Emails tracked in Dynamics 365, including sender, recipients, and body. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Appointments` | Scheduled meetings and commitments, with attendees and location. | Incremental, Full refresh | modifiedon, createdon | — | | `Notes` | Notes and attachments linked to other records (the `annotation` table). Create a new one, then reconnect the source. - If a table syncs no rows, the credential may not have access to that data. Check its permissions, then reconnect the source. If your sync is failing or data looks wrong, see the [Data warehouse troubleshooting guide](https://posthog.com/docs/data-warehouse/troubleshooting.md).
