# Before answers can use a source

Two checks have to pass before PostHog AI, Support, or the Playground can use a source.

## Approve AI data processing

Organization owners and admins approve this under organization settings, in **AI service providers**.

Until that's on, PostHog doesn't send source text to a model. Documents stay unchecked, search leaves them out, and the Playground refuses a question with: `Enable AI data processing before asking another question.`

## Wait for the content check

Search leaves a document out until the content check marks it safe, and leaves out a document marked unsafe. See [Content checks](https://posthog.com/docs/business-knowledge/sources.md#content-checks).

Keyword search works after the content check. Semantic search is built in the background and can take up to an hour after that. The source status shows **indexing** during that window.

If the organization hasn't approved AI data processing, a ready source can still show that semantic search is off.
