# Turn on AI data processing

PostHog AI, Support, and the Playground can't use a source until two checks pass. Until then, answers stay empty.

    ## Approve AI data processing

    Required

    An organization owner or admin turns on **AI service providers** in organization settings. Until then, PostHog doesn't send source text to a model, so answers stay empty.

    ## Wait for the content check

    Required

    PostHog checks each document before search can use it. Search leaves a document out until the check marks it safe, and always leaves out a document marked unsafe. See [Content checks](https://posthog.com/docs/business-knowledge/sources.md#content-checks).

3.  ## Your sources are ready

    Checkpoint

    Keyword search works as soon as a document passes the content check. Semantic search builds in the background and can take up to an hour after that. The source shows **indexing** until it's done.
